Copenhagen 17/3 2024. 44 cl can from Meny, Illum, Kbh. K. Dark purple can with the shell mussel with some sort of Sea serpent residing inside.
Pours unclear, murky brownish orange with a small off-white head. Bubbly. Settles as thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. Small chunks of yeast whirling about. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet sugary odor mingling with a bit of citrus fruit and nuts. Whiff of sweet Bourbon. Brown sugar, honey and hints of vanilla. Sourish tangerine.
Light carbonation. Rather thick, oily, viscous yet lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a notable presence of alcohol. Lingers for a while.
Wholesome, sweet and boozy Barley Wine.
