It was one of those ideal days. Brilliant blue skies, fluffy white clouds, and the anticipation of things yet to come on an early spring night. How, I wondered, do you conclude such sublimity? The answer was right in front of me; a warm bath, LL Bean flannel pajamas, a creamy well aged block of Velveeta, and Crabbies Raspberry Ginger Beer chilled to perfection. Keeping in theme, I soaked in sun kissed raspberry scented bath waters and reflected on the day and the promise of summer suns and the sweet succulence of ripened berries in a charming 11.2 fluid ounce brown bottle.

The sun went down, the stars came out, the night beckoned, and as I poured the frothy bubbles into my finest Batman jelly glass, I immediately noticed a little head - one of the finer things in life I thought. The excitement of a new taste sensation mounted. The fragrance of exotic ginger floated gently in the air and mixed with the subtle, flowery note of raspberry. No Cheetos with this brew, no porn, this was made for fantasies. I sat back looked at the night skies, breathed in the ambiance, and savored the first sip. Delicious. Mysterious. Spicy yet delicate, sweet yet tart; heaven in a bottle perhaps, tantalization on the tongue. Here's to you Crabbies Brewery. You nailed it.

I have been awaiting an opportunity to review ALL of the Crabbie's lineup since adding many of them back in September 2018. I was only lacking Raspberry Alcoholic Ginger Beer, but having scored a bottle on Christmas Eve, I am now Green & Go!

From the Bottle: "Unique and refreshing best served chilled over ice"; "For more than two hundred years Crabbie's has shipped its ginger from the Far East -- following in the pioneering footsteps of the first Scots Merchant Adventurers -- hence our distinctive Elephant Trade Mark."; "Best served chilled over ice, Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer with Scottish Raspberry flavor provides a uniquely refreshing experience - only for grown-ups!"

Having Pop!ped the cap, I began a C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. I was instantly aware of several things. One was the brief formation of a finger of fizzy, foamy, pinkish head that quickly fell away to wisps. Another was its Deep-Pink/Magenta (SRM = N/A) color with NE-quality clarity. The last was the pungency of the ginger! Man, they are not playing around with this stuff! Bringing the glass closer to my nose, the raspberry was also quite noticeable, but the ginger was still king in this beer. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, just a step or two past watery. The taste was pretty good, especially given that I could still taste raspberry in amongst the intensity of the ginger. Finish was dry, spicy, even slightly tart from the raspberry. Once more, I was left feeling as though it might be a better mixer than a standalone drink. YMMV.

Pours clear raspberry with minimal head..sweet Raspberry aroma and taste. Sticky sweetness coats the mouth on the finish...Lots of carbonation. Thin mouthfeel..Very sweet but quite refreshing when cold. Better than ANY "Wine Cooler" I've ever had.
