Yet another offering brought by leftpaw at the end of 2023. From the Four Corners area, Cortez, Colorado, plenty of distance from Cherry Creek's ground zero of criminals turned real estate agent rookies. The world's oldest profession to turn to.
Pours a copper color, 1/5" white head on it. Not much in the way of cherry influence on the color it would seem. Light cherry pop tart smells in the nose, woodiness apparent.
The taste continues the lighter cherry aspect, I'm guessing the gueuze like blending resulted in the cherries fading slightly. The golden sour body is nice and appropriate. Acidity is like a 6.5/10, sourness is 7/10. Equal funky woodiness going on. Its definitely got less cherry going for it than your average kriek or cherry beer. Which isn't a drawback or anything, it just is. I think its got the crowd pleaser thing going for it so long as one does not dislike sour or cherry beers.
Seems on point as a second tier kriek meets gueuze kind of concept.
