A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate chestnut brown + cola brown + ruby red + amber colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a medium to large sized patch of thin film covering a little more than 75% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of roasty + toasted + caramel + slightly charred malts with a very light amount of caramel sweetness. Light amounts of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of roasty + toasted + caramel + slightly charred malts with a very light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of earthy hops. There are moderate amounts of lingering roasty bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyable with classic stout flavors and aromas - kind of a throwback but in a good way and I could easily have a few of these.
