Very good head production; good retention. No sediment.
Aroma is quite pleasant. You get the peanut butter and caramel, along with chocolate and cola from the malt base. It doesn't hit you over the head.
Similar on the palate. It's rich, but I wouldn't at all classify it as a pastry stout. The peanut butter and caramel are both mild, and add a very nice complement to the stout base - in the case of the caramel, it really just amplifies the toasted malt portion of the malt base. At 9%, it drinks a touch light and easy, but it's still clearly an imperial stout - it's not trying to be a double digit behemoth.
I really enjoyed this. If you are hopping for a peanut butter fudge bomb, you're going to be disappointed. If you're looking for a flavored imperial stout, you'll probably be pretty pleased.
