Nice, robust starting head. It settles to film and ring bubbles slowly. It leaves some streaks on the glass. Hazy, but definitely not the milkshake cloud of most NE IPAs. The liquid is neutral to dark gold.
Earthy aroma initially. On the second whiff, I get a bit of semisweet caramel like an English Ale. The third smell drew out a light metallic nose.
Interesting start with mildly sweet, barely tart flavor. The swallow dries out and the tartness increases. Somewhat watery, the lower carbonation doesn't quite make up the difference. The aftertaste has a touch of hop but no notable hop bitterness.

Ugh. This was a dud. Flat carbonation, limp body and just an ugly beer to drink. Simply feels and tastes like a real lazy concoction.
