A blackberry Berliner Weisse

Very brief, minor bubbles even with a vigorous pour. No retaining head and therefore no lacing on the glass. The liquid is cloudy with an orange red color. It looks a bit like pink grapefruit juice.

The smell is tart with fruity notes. The blackberry isn't readily identifiable. Oddly, the aroma reminds me of fresh peach peels.

The taste is replete with a true blackberry flavor. The tartness is like a touch of lemon zest. There's the lightest of sweetness in the swallow. High carbonation with a moderate body--true to the style. The finish becomes a bit more sour, but this beer remains very drinkable. Overall, a mild, but highly likable, Berliner Weise.
