From the brewer:
Our Edson’s Raiders Summer Saison is a pale farmhouse ale that is highly carbonated, fruity, and spicy with complex aromas of tropical fruit and a balanced bitterness. Generous Mandarina Bavaria and Amarillo hop additions bring bright aromatic notes and a subtly balanced flavors of tangelo and pear fruits, while the beer’s light golden color, effervescent carbonation, and dry finish remain true to the classic Belgian Saison style. 6.5% ABV
The liquid is greenish gold with a degree of haze. The head is brief and leaves no lace.
This beer indeed smells like a farmhouse with a lot of earthy and spent hay aromas. For me, it's initially repulsive with some odors which remind me of pee.
The flavor starts off mellow, almost like a soft British Mild, but the swallow is stronger with some hop bitterness and biting yeast. It's surprisingly balanced. The flavors were a huge step up from the initial smell. The body holds its own to a bubbly carbonation. The aftertaste is lightly tart but mostly bitter.
