On tap at Steelbound Brewery and Distillery in Ellicottville, NY.
This one pours a golden dark brown color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
This smells like dark fruit, caramel, and breadiness.
This is a pretty standard take on the style, but I enjoyed it. It doesn't have that rich complex and deep malt character that the best versions of the style have, but it does have a nice basic balance between sweetness and bitterness, with some fruitiness, a bit of dark breadiness, and a hint of hop character.
This is medium bodied, slightly creamy, with a good drinkability and no booziness.
This isn't anything world class, but it's decent enough, and a nice attempt at the style.
