On tap at the brewpub.
Dark amber tone with a small amount of spotty lacing. No head, and looking a little lifeless. Vague aroma of pine, maybe a woodsy note, along with an unfortunate vegetal quality. No amount of swirling the glass would produce any foam, therefore it was hard to pull out these aromas.
Main ingredient of caramel malt is tasted in the middle and into the short bitter finish. Aftertaste is chalky and a little dry. Very little carbonation, making it pretty watery. Easy enough to chug the remainder of the sample, but at that point, I was focusing on forgetting everything about this one. Not recommended.
