The second of the recently barrel aged brews from '88.
Appearance - Pours a cloudy amber gold with three fingers of frothy bubbly white head.
Smell - white wine, peaches, other vinous aromas, earthy and spicy funky yeast, spicy earthy and floral hops, and honey and nutty aromas.
Taste - white wine, peaches, and other vinous aromas upfront. The earthy and spicy funky yeast follows next. The spicy earthy and floral hops and honey and nutty aromas finish the brew off.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the white wine, honey and nutty aromas, and peaches lingering.
Overall - A stellar barrel aged brew from the folks at '88. The Sauvignon Blanc and Cognac barrel elements were done very well. A true stand out of a brew. A nice ode to Super Mario Bros. This definitely won't last very long at the taproom. A must grab if you are lucky enough to grab a bottle or two.
