A- Pours a deep dark brown color that shows some minor clarity when looking at the brew from the underside, and comes with a tan colored head, that is soapy, two fingers thick, and settles nicely into a thick ring and patchwork over top the brew. The lacing produces snow capped mountains, but these eventually settle back into the beer.

S- Smooth vanilla cream, chocolate (both dark and milk), alongside black coffee, burnt and heavily roasted malts (Chocolate & Black), Tenderflake pie crust, muted baking spices, some brown sugar sweetness, and a finish that leans towards toffee and/or molasses richness.

T- The flavors follow suit to the aromas quite closely, with lots of vanilla richness, cocoa and baking chocolate goodness, slight saltiness, and this is the main flavor that lingers well after the swallow. Underlying tones of toasty deep dark malt, muted bitterness and a dry Earthiness......this has flavors that ride the fence between traditional dry Irish Stout and more dessert like Milk Stout....it wavers in a good way, giving the palate something to contemplate with each and every taste!

M/O- Solid medium mouthfeel/body, and well hidden alcohol surmises this one overall. There is a distinct creaminess about it that actually gets better as the beer warms. As for the drinkability, this goes down rather easily for such a flavorful brew! Will definitely be purchasing this one again. Looking forward to trying this out at the brewery sometime as well!

Poured from a howler from Alberta Beer Exchange.

A collaboration brew with the folks at Pretty Sweet Bakeshop YYC.

Appearance - Pours a dark chocolate brown with two fingers of bubbly mocha-tan head.

Smell - Earthy and leafy hops, cocoa, roasted malts, coffee bean, salted caramel, oats, earthy yeast, vanilla.

Taste - Kicks off with a lot of the earthy flavours of cocoa, roasted malts, hops, and coffee. Salted caramel and vanilla comes in next, though the saltiness level is on the low side.

Mouthfeel - Medium-to-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Chewy finish with lingering caramel at the end.

Overall - Another job well done on a stout by the folks at Eighty-Eight. It's a good beer - I can't find much fault with it - but I feel like these are flavours that I've had before in other stouts and some of these flavours (e.g. salted caramel) have been better executed.
