We harnessed the power of a Norwegian Kveik yeast to ferment this beauty fast and hot. The result is a sexy, hazy golden yellow brew that is a tornado of hops, juice and party. It smells like a boozy tropical fruit salad! Pineapple, papaya and melon flavours dominate with a nice touch of red berry provided by the Barbe Rouge and Mosaic hops.

Pours a brilliant hazy golden yellow with massive tight foamy white head.
Nose strongly tropical - pineapple, melon, papaya - citrus, ripe orange - as warmed a touch of pungency, slight dankness and a bit floral.
Tastes of ripe orange, tropical hops - plenty of pineapple, melon and papaya, slightly earthy, again a bit floral and though primarily a sweetness runs through there is a soft bitterness at the finish with no hop burn.
Medium mouthfeel with bright carbonation - deliciously hoppy, sweet tropical finish.
One of the nicer NEIPAs in a style I am not always a fan of.

New to the shelves around here, I can hardly keep up with all the new Alberta breweries. I'm not complaining.

Pours a slightly hazy, greenish gold, nice finger of fine bubbled, bright white head. I thought it might be a bit more cloudy, but it looks nice enough,

Pretty sweet aroma, mainly green apple and papaya or mango. A touch of sourness in the aroma, apple juice, a bit of spicy pineapple. Green apple juice is what I get mostly, and it borders on the musky tartness of a sour, akin to a gose or a lambic, but sweeter.

Taste follows up faithfully on the aroma: lots of green apple, pineapple, mango and papaya. The sourness is less pronounced than the aroma promised, and it's actually not all that sweet in the aftertaste. It's not all that bitter either. There is very little hopping that I can detect in the flavour. To be honest, it comes off as a bit bland overall. Refreshing, light, but lacking a certain "something" to tie it all together. There is a nice bit of spiciness on the middle of the tongue, and I appreciate the lack of overwhelming bitterness in the finish, but there is also something lacking in its overall flavouring. It's not bad, by any means, but I wish the body were a bit more full, and it's so effervescent that it doesn't really linger, at all. To its credit, the alcohol is well masked, and I would never have guessed this was above 7%.

Would be refreshing on a summer patio, but otherwise I'm not sure I'd pick this up again. I hate it when I come across a beer like this: I can't really find fault with it, but it's also, unfortunately, completely forgettable.

A double dry-hopped hazy ipa.

Appearance - Pours a hazy pineapple gold with four fingers of frothy white head that leaves some nice looking lace on the glass.

Smell - citrus and tropical hops, citrus and grapefruit peel, peach, apricot, pineapple, papaya, bready malts, and earthy tropical yeast.

Taste - bold citrus and tropical hops upfront. It then goes into the citrus and grapefruit peel, peach, apricot, pineapple, and papaya. The bready malts and earthy tropical yeast round out the brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the hops and tropical fruits lingering.

Overall - A bold and flavourful NE IPA from '88. This one is definitely a stand out amongst the high class NE IPA's out there.
