Tasted on tap at the source. Pours pitch black with a solid half inch of brown head. The nose is quite sweet. Chocolate and vanilla come through right away. The taste is super smooth. Toffee, chocolate, maple, vanilla, and some dark fruit. Not my favorite - could have been heavier in the body. Still really good.

A- Pours dark like used motor oil, and has a viscous looking consistency...very opaque as well. The head is a medium dark caramel color, with meringue like foam atop the liquid, and it takes its sweet time breaking down too, leaving behind a sticky thick layer of lacing. While I cannot see the carbonation, the head would suggest that it is fine and dense, and I can certainly hear some mild popping. Overall this looks to be a fine looking milk stout!
S- I definitely smell aromas of deep dark toffee, caramel syrup, sweet caramel dotted bread, some dark chocolate notes, muted coffee bean aroma, sweet biscuit and some sweeter type malt profile. Surprisingly I am not getting much in terms of the very high alcohol that is contained, but perhaps just a hint of some malt char right at the end to help balance things out.
T- Lets get this out of the way, the alcohol is very nonchalant on the palate! There is no way that one would even think that it is 11% by taste anyway, as the lactose sugars do an amazing job covering things up....there is a slight burn down the hatch but other than that it is very smooth! Sweet toffee, syrupy caramel drizzle, sweet bread crumble, vanilla cream, dark chocolate, creamed coffee foam, and hints of toasty malt make this a delectable treat! There are dry charred notes right on the finish, and overall I wouldn't call this a super sweet example of the dessert but quite balanced is more the flavour profile experienced here.
M/O- Full bodied across the palate, and the carbonation is velvety smooth, as per my initial assumption in the appearance, this is a creamy, full flavoured sweet stout! The drinkability is quite high in my opinion, and while I don't think I'd attempt more than one of these in a sitting, this is easy going, and a nice winter warmer, as I am enjoying on a snowy evening to bring in the season around these parts! Will seek this out again before its going going gone!
