Notes via stream of consciousness: What do we have here? It’s a West Coast pale ale - not an IPA. There’s a Che Guevara looking gorilla on the label with a bottle that appears to be a Molotov cocktail. Is this really that intense? Let’s see… it’s a deep golden/orange beneath a short head of creamy white foam. The aroma is certainly hoppy with citrus and flowers, and there’s some grainy malt as well. The flavor follows completely but with some delicate caramel and added bitterness. I’m going to go with 35 IBUs but I think I also saw that on the label already. Yep, it’s 5.5% ABV with 35 IBUs. There’s a lot of orange to it and I wonder if it’s from Amarillo, or Amarillo and Mandarina Bavaria. Orange and caramel seem to be the main notes with some light pine backing it. It finishes dry with citrus and floral character lingering. The head has held up well and the lacing is very good. All in all this is a fairly good West Coast pale ale that could almost pass as an IPA. Nicely done.

I picked this one up in Barcrlona because of the Planet of the Apes-like logo and because the ape is holding a molotov cocktail. Earlier editions came with a cloth sticker, with instructions how to use that cloth to make a real molotov cocktail of the bottle! - a true revolutionary brew, I thought (their other, 115 IPA had F**k the Police etc written all over so there you have it). Otherwise nothing known about this brewery.
So you can tell that this is going to be an Aggressive Pale Ale and yes it sure has quite some hops into it, you can smell it from afar, but to me it rather tastes like a home brew IPA on the session side, maybe a little bit too intense for an APA? Nevertheless, I liked it, although the aggressiveness is also there in the CO2s that took me back a bit. A bit tougher Pale Ale than I had imagined but it was still quite citrusy, bitter grapefruity and sparkling like a lemon soda. Take it as an IPA and you'll enjoy it!
