A very elegant can, minimalist/modern, the Japanese would admire it.
L- Very dark indeed, held up by a halogen no light gets through. Pours with brief 1mm pale tan cap that's soon a 5mm wide ring around the side - this high an ABV% causes that.
S- Intriguing (I have not read the can or a description, this is blind). I'll make a stab here and say I suspect it's port or sherry barrel aged. It has a distinct vineous note to it.
T- Oh... heavens, it's hugely pungent. Either it's off, or on the 2nd sip I think instead it is wine-barrel, or wine derivative (port/sherry) barrel aged, and the beer tastes more of wine than beer. Ie it has a notable sour twist in it, common in a dry wine but waaay less so from an 11.1% black beer. My taste buds don't really get beyond processing the massive wine aspect... so I can't comment on any such at all.
F- It feels more like a glass of say big 15% wine, ie that level of higher ABV winey impact, than it does an 11.1% beer.
O- Well it's certainly different, and looking at the can/ABV I expect it was ££ too. If I was blind-folded I can honestly say I'd tell you this was a deep/high ABV% barrel aged wine - a Spanish Rioja or similar perhaps.
Right, now to read the can! '...Bordeaux Red Cash Edition' - ok, got that. Aged for over 12 months in said. Chocolate, coffee, red fruit.... [Etc] ... well I didn't get that, just wine.
440ml BB: 02/12/22 Bought from TremblingMadness/York for home delivery to London. £8.10 (£18.41/L). Clearly not one I'd buy again.
