One of the most popular styles in the craft industry, every brewery worth its salt has a kickass IPA in their portfolio. Copious amounts of hops are boiled in the wort kettle to provide the characteristic bitterness the style is known for, but they also provide unique essential oils that impart fruity and citrusy flavors and aromas. Resinous dry-hopping amplifies these flavors and aromas without increasing the bitterness. All of this is balanced by a clean malt profile exhibiting biscuit and light caramel flavors. Make no mistake though, this beer is all about the hops!

Workhorse West Coast IPA at 7.5% presents with a murky burnt golden beneath a frothy, bubbly off white head. Sweet version of a hop nose. First is a palatable hop bite which feels very balanced. Mouthfeel mild is an easy peasy going down. Ample warming along with a semi dry finish, makes this a keeper brew.

It's just a damn good, go to West Coast IPA. Honestly one of the best I've ever had.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight with my old hockey teammate whilst in the area for my daughter's Natty gymnastics meet at Ursinus College. It poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had nice hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base and bright hop profile. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer!

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $3.49. Canned on 05/23/23, so this is one day shy of being 7 weeks old.
Look: Nice orange copper color with a slight haze and a rocky tan-colored head. There was a couple of fingers of head upon the pour, and now there is a thin layer that is sticking around.
Smell: Nice aromas of pine, caramel malt, grapefruit and orange rind, and mild papaya and melon notes. Green bell pepper on the finish after swirling the glass.
Taste: It's tasty - nice caramel malt backbone and enough resinous pine and bitterness to balance it out and take it up a notch in terms of hoppiness while still finishing dry. There is a pithy, lingering bitterness with lots of grapefruit character. Also very peppery on the finish. The bitterness is really building as I drink more of it. It's been a while since I have had such a fresh West Coast IPA as this one and it's definitely hitting the spot for me.
Feel: It has a slightly chewy mouthfeel and it's nicely carbonated. It's medium to medium plus bodied. Very drinkable.
Overall: I think that this is a solid WCIPA. I think that some people may knock this and say that it is too little for its weight at 7% ABV; however, I think that it weighs in nicely for its class.

A clean malt profile of biscuit and light caramel notes produce the perfect backdrop for flavorful American hops. Citrus and pine through and through.

Serving in a British pint glass on 6/22; beer was canned on 4/27. Pours cloudy for a West Coast Style IPA; smells strongly of floral hops; several layers of hops taste dominate the flavor; aftertaste is bitter; body is correct for the style; very fresh taste; mouthfeel is smooth with a slightly sticky after feel; holds at least 2 mm of head to the last drop with heavy lacing. "Very good" is an appropriate rating. It would need a little bit more body and complexity to reach the next level.

F: perfect carbonation medium body
O: an absolutely flawless example of a West Coast IPA. Hop forward with a malt finish
