Presenting a deep coffee color in the glass with slight ruby-colored highlights, this Doppelbock's aroma is robust and well-rounded. Initial notes of toffee and caramel are followed by roasted characters and rich malt flavors reminiscent of a light toast. A full mouthfeel with subtle sweetness offsets the gentle bitterness for an ideal winter slow-sipper that is supremely satisfying.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight with my old hockey teammate whilst in the area for my daughter's Natty gymnastics meet at Ursinus College. It poured a clear amber with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had nice hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base and bright hop profile. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer!

Canned on: 9-14-23

A - Dark hazy garnet color with dense light caramel creamy foam, and tight, sprightly carbonation.

S - Toasted bready caramel malt dominates the nose along with a slight trace of smokiness.

T - Light smoke and caramel bread crust from start to finish with a slight bit of earthy dark fruit. Finishes on the sweeter side with light residual bitterness.

M - Big silky body with light carbonation dissipating on the tongue.

O - This is really nicely done and highly recommended.

Lovely deep brown/amber with a dark tan head. Malty, slightly smoky aroma. Perfectly light, sweet taste with just a touch of smokiness. Smooth and easy on the tongue and after. This is an excellent Doppelbock!!!

The listed ABV on the pint can label is 7.8%. The contents were moved into a clear Imperial pint glass. It's color is brown, bright brown in the light. It's more translucent than opaque. A perfectly sized tan head appears to have endurance. Fresh malted hops present their distinctive aroma. Rich and sweetly malty, this goes down very smoothly. If any of the alcohol is noticed, it's found contributing to the sweetness. Then, during the finish, just a hint of smokiness. A significant amount of alcohol delivered in a rich and smooth body, with just a little extra taste sensation at the finish. This went down too quickly to be thoroughly enjoyed. That's how good it is. Happiness lies inside the three pint cans left over.

Jmprpi sums it up.
A very solid dbock, very close to spot on. A bit more body, mouth, fullness would make it splendid.
I'm glad I got a crowler of it. Probably get a 2nd.

on draft at a bar, 10 oz glass

clear, very dark brown with ruby highlights, thin cream colored head that fades. nice aroma of rich malt - caramel, toffee, crusty bread, mild raisin or fig. taste is similar, but well balanced so not too sweet. medium bodied, could be a little fuller.
