Workhorse Brewing Co. "Liquid Sweater"
16 fl. oz. can, "CANNED 12.27.24 10:56 836" and sampled on 08.20.25
$4.25 @ Wegman's, King of Prussia, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: Its very hazy golden body has an orange sheen to beneath a finger's width of lightly off-white foam. The aroma is citrusy and floral, and almost perfume-like. I'm getting notes of orange, grapefruit, Asiatic lily, lemon, and apricot. It's interesting and enticing. On to the taste then... as usual it's as the aroma suggests. What else is in there? Let's see... some guava, perhaps a touch of passion fruit... some mango and papaya... a hint of berries, and some woodiness. I was going to say earthiness but there's really just a light touch. It's sweetish upfront but it dries in the finish. As for the malt I'm not really sure. It seems like there are some oats in there but if there are they're not really clear. It's a little grassy, so maybe there's some Pilsner at play, and I would guess wheat as well but again, just like the theoretical oats it's not coming through clearly. It's different than the standard NEIPA grain bill so I'll just leave it at that and call it sweetish and grainy. The bitterness is firm, balancing it nicely, and it ends with some residual fruitiness lingering but a larger amount of spruce, pine, and what seems like actual wood. Maybe that's what I was thinking was earthiness? In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp with a fine-bubbled carbonation that seems natural. The more it warms up the more the different fruits seem to step forward at different times. This one's a charmer.
