Good lord, it's another unnecessarily waxed non-barrel aged stout by these guys, which is absurdly hard to remove, again nearly breaking the cap in half. Appearance is a muddy dark mahogany under a short burnt mocha head that fizzles out a little less quickly than Beset, but still dies off to a fluid, headless surface.
Taste is coconut brownie--even cosmic brownie--complete with sweet ass frosting. The coffee tries to do its part to add some mild bittering, but does not contribute much flavor, aside from maybe a little toastiness.
The body feels viscous for a moment, but is overall thinner than you'd think, of medium heft with a sharp but faint carbonation. What seems to make it a little thicker than Beset is the coconut.
While it tastes better than last night's Eighth State, their shit is just way too god damn sweet. It kills me when people say the same of Dark Lord, when that brew's potential Cloy Factor® was surpassed half a decade ago, with shit like this taking it to the power of 10.

This whale of a stout was sent to me by @mbgreg in BIF 13. Poured like day old dark roast coffee with about as much head. Not inspired so far.
The aroma is mild with wiffs of coffee and vanilla reaching my senses. Still uninspiring.
Then I taste it, yowsa! Thick and rich and is this BBA? Nothing on the bottle saying. Coffee and vanilla accents a rich malt base in a wonderful way. Definitely inspired now!
The feel is smooth and full and viscous, ideal for the style.
Just glad I got the chance to try this, thanks Mark!
