About as thick and oily as any beer I've had. Pours with minimal head and no lacing but long-lasting legs, joined by a few floaty bits that I thought were stray coconut but, upon closer inspection, might be some congealed caramel. Definitely pastry, with aromas of cherry cordial, holiday fruitcake, booze-infused caramel, and vanilla. I admit I had to look up what palo santo is, apparently a wood that imbues "citrusy-pine aromas, exotic spice, fresh cut timber, and a hint of smoke" when extracted as an essential oil. I don't really get much of that, though I would have believed this was barrel-aged if you told me that, given some oak and cedar notes I might attribute to some combination of the palo santo and the coconut.
In any case, it really is quite lovely, although cloyingly sweet and more viscous than strictly necessary.
