Opaque matte sepia brown to black with a thin tan ring.
First impression is Oreo coffee milkshake and dirt cup. And so is the second impression. As well as the third. It's just intensely decadent of pastryland.
But then there's a mitigating toastiness, perhaps the pistachio, as well as a slightly cutting heat.
This draft pour on-site was better than any stout bottles I've had by Eighth State.
