Appearance: Pours pitch black with a tan film that fades, leaving a few speckles
Smell: Roasty, with hazelnut tones supporting the chocolate; Bourbon and vanilla in the aromatics, as well
Taste: Roast and chocolate forward with the hazelnut and vanilla flavors developing; Bourbon arrives, in the middle, with some earthy hops emerging in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with low carbonation
Overall: Although I live in the Carolinas I have not had much from Eighth State - I need to get down to Greenville to check them out
