A buddy and i worked the Altered States festival on 7-27-24 and each received a four-pack as a gift from Eighth State. Canned 7-15-24, consumed two cans for review 7-29-24.
Beer poured hazy golden orange with a nice head that is leaving some lacing.
Nose is interesting and different, getting a blend of herbal onion/garlic to go with citrus and tropical hops which overall is very vibrant but different.
Taste follows the nose as the larger but very light pale malt base gives way to hopping that lends a woody herbal dominate profile. Getting a touch of onion and garlic, grapefruit, lemon-lime, and pineapple. Finishes with a passion fruit bitterness with a touch of pineapple husk bitterness. Love the level of the bitterness, 7/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and perfectly creamy and soft with every sip, very impressive!
Overall, this is definitely an alien and outlier in the hazy world, nicely executed, glad to have tried!
