Copenhagen 2/8 2019. 33 cl bottle from AlkoSpot, Chimielna, Gdańsk. Very simple label with a little lion-head logo, the name of the beer and a little red sign telling me it’s aged in Bourbon Barrels.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small, light beige head. Settles as patchy, thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate Lacing.
Aroma is intense, rich, sweet and with strong bitter, coffee twist. strong boozy presence. Cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee, notable presence of whisky.
Light carbonation. Thick, viscous, soft, fat texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undercurrent. Lingering. Light boozy afterburn.
Very fine, rich Imperial Stout with good balance and a solid alcoholic kick.
