Unfortunatly, I think a decent Hefe is the hardest thing for a small scale brewery or brewpub to produce. After trying many and trying to brew a few myself, I think the brewer must really strike a very fine balance in the numerous flavors and aromas the beer needs to be sucessful. This beer didnt find the balance and suffered across the board in points.
Yeah, it was tan and cloudy, but it didnt have much of a head.
It had all the aromas associated with a good wheat beer, but they all seemed off or disproportionate. The taste suffered the same fate. I become leary when i am in a small establishment and see a Hefe on the menu. And most of the time, i will not venture to try it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
