Herkimer's Helles Bock arrives a clear gold color. The head is small due to the pour, and it recedes fast. The aroma is pretty nondiscript. The is some faint biscuity malt, but not much else. The taste is a bit more pronounced. The malts are stronger, but there is a slight diacytl presence that gets in the way. It isn't quite dominant, but it is there. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a smooth texture. Overall, I think this would have been a good beer if fermentation had gone better. As it is, however, it is a disappointment.
