This brew pours a semi clear golden color. The head is small and decipates quickly into thin lacing. The aroma is of bread with freshly cut grass. The taste is like the aroma, but with a mild minerally finish. The mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, this is a pretty good beer, and I would certainly have it again.

The GABF Gold MEdal winner currently known as SKY PILOT.
Lightly hazed golden color, soft, pillowy white head.
Clean aroma, a bit grainy, malty.
Nice texture/ mouthfeel, lots going on, playing with the palate. Yeast isn't lazy in this one, keeps kicking around in the mouth.
Some cereal in the taste, grainy.
Very good to drink down. Sweet, tasty, then a dry finish. Quite full of character.
All hail unfiltered lagers! I wish there were more of them.

I have to agree with the other reviews, major props for bringing this to Minneapolis. It's just a shame it isn't a more regular fixture on their beer list. It's a cloudy yellow beer as it should be and has an intriguing funky aroma. Major points of the flavor and aroma include stale but pleasant sour bread, white pepper, pale grains. This beer starts interesting, yet unassuming, and really opens up the further you look into the flavors. Definately seek this one out. It didn't win a gold at the GABF for nothing.

Cloudy gold. Dirty white head. Sticky lace. Aroma has a distinct lemon trait to it. Kind of odd, but it fits I guess. Also some nice maltiness on the nose. Onto the flavor...some fresh lager yeastiness to it. Pilsner like bready maltiness. Slight dryness on the finish. Very tasty and very drinkable. This is a great example of a style that is VERY hard to come by. Props to Herk.
