I am starting a new goal to try all of the herkimers beers. It won't be an easy task, but it will be quite the journey.

Had this at the octoberfest party last night. Served in a plastic cup... vintage.

Color is a dark golden orange. Small layer of khaki head.

Aroma: Malty and sweet. Caramel flavors. Grassy hops. Odd smell in the background that I can't figure out.

Taste: Weedy, grassy hops. With bready and caramel malt flavors. Fairly bland. There is a huge off flavor with this beer. It is the off flavor I taste in most of their beers. It just throws the entire beer off.

Mouthfeel: Creamy and smooth. Medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Ends dry and bland.

Overall, not a good octoberfest beer at all. The off flavor just brings this beer down. A big waste of $5. I won't be having this one again.

Had this on tap during happy hour at the Herk. You know what that means...two pints!

Pours a murky red amber copper color with a two finger light tan head with great retention and some of the most amazing lacing I've ever seen. It literally coated the entire glass at one point or another, and stayed until the server took the glass away.

The nose is strong German malts and hops, a true Oktoberfest. Really nice balance leaning slightly towards the malt side.

Taste is what you would expect, sweet malts and German noble hops. A great balance and combintion of ingredients creates an authentic and great tasting lager. Very refreshing and definitely gets you into the Oktoberfest spirit.

Mouthfeel is medium with an appropriate carbonatoin level. Smooth going down with no aftertastes.

Drinkability is great! Not sure of the alcohol percentage, but this is a great session beer. I could drink this all day and not regret it in the morning.

Overall, maybe my favorite Oktoberfest of the season so far, maybe not, but it's definitely up there. I will order this again.
