On tap at the Herkimer. This beer is described as an Imperial Altbier. It arrives a murky light brown color with nice amber hues. The head is one inch in height, and recedes slowly into minimal lacing. The aroma is of spicy hops with bready and caramel malt beneath. The taste is balanced flavor wise, but there is a firm bitterness through out. Beneath the bitterness is complex mixture of spicy hop notes, bready malt, and light caramel. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a smooth texture, and moderate carbonation. Overall, this is a very fine beer that I hope to regularly see on tap at the Herk.
