From the 500ml bottle in a snifter. This solid little brew pours a
medium dark ruby tinged brown with a faint head of white foam
that sizzles to a thin ring. Nose of dark cherry, bourbon, vanilla,
leather, vinous notes, oak, and light astringent booze touches.
Flavors surpass the nose nicely with sweet cherry, vanilla, candy
sugars, plum, brandy, bourbon, and spicy rye notes. Nice mouth
feel; medium body, smooth, lightly coating, warming, sweet without
being overly cloying, and finishing lightly dry.
Overall, a first for me from this brewery and one that makes
a great first impression.
Cheers
