Deep brown color with light passing the center of the glass. Clear. Minor head which leaves only a couple of spots and streaks.
Sweet caramel smell. Some light cherry.
Strong yeast taste up front. It reminds me of how a dish towel smells—off putting. There’s a good presence of alcohol which with the maltose creates a richer brew, even for a Scotch Ale. The finish brings a touch of hops. In short, a sipping beer.

Foggy, quite dark, nearing black, but with some red hues under an even tan head.
The nose is lightly peaty, but the palate transitions to fuller, fluffier, yet drier expressions of chocolatey, nutty, and mildly woody oak elements that are only a touch smoky.
