Pours a hazy, bright orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and citrus, tropical, stone fruit hops, with notes of grapefruit, lime peel, passion fruit and peach. Taste is an excellent balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly dank hops, with citrus, tropical and stone fruit notes of grapefruit, orange, lime peel, passion fruit, mango and peach, as well as just a hint of grassy weed. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some grapefruit, passion fruit and peach lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for a really nice New England IPA that's super hazy and juicy, with a great, soft mouthfeel as well. The hops stand out quite vibrant and well-defined here, with strong, zesty citrus notes, as well as some sweet peach and slightly acidic passion fruit and mango. This is my first time trying a beer with Superdelic hops and I'm not really getting a lot of red berries from it, but they certainly complement the citrus and tropical notes of Citra nicely, while really reinforcing those citrus notes, with Nectaron bringing those typical peach notes that I've come to associate with the variety to the table.
