Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a small, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and floral, citrus and tropical hops, with notes of tangerine and passion fruit. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, floral and slightly resinous hops, with citrus and tropical notes of tangerine, grapefruit and passion fruit, as well as the merest hint of pine also coming through. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some tangerine and passion fruit lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I really enjoyed the first Wood Brothers NEIPA I had, which is why this one came as a bit of a disappointment to me, to be honest. Maybe that's just because it contains Amarillo hops though, one of my least favorite hop varieties due to the strong floral undertones, although Galaxy and Simcoe are actually two of my favorite varieties. I dunno, this certainly isn't a badly made example of the style, I just really dislike the distinct floral character here, while I do like that certain, although subtle, resinous bitterness though. I also think that hops could be a bit more juicy ands well-defined, but overall this makes for good example of the style that is just not to my personal taste.
