473ml can served cold into a snifter. Durand purchase. Canned November 30, 2023.
Appearance - Very turbid and hazy with a murky yellowy brew with honey brown highlights. Eggshell white head that measures a couple of fingers and the rocky head leaves a swath of bubbles and spidery lacing in its wake.
Smell - Tropical medley but rather muted. Mango and pineapple are the biggest stars. Peach in there too.
Taste - Low bitterness initially. Juicy peach with a little mango and papaya. Pineapple nose doesn't really show in the flavors. Flavor is very mild and lacking intensity. A little weediness in the back end with more bitterness coming in then. Boozy on the back end too.
Mouthfeel - Low carbonation, very soft and crushable. Plenty of astringency from the hop oils on the tongue afterwards. Definite warming in the back of throat from the ABV content.
Overall - Good IPA, Just wish the fruit was amped up a bit as it's fairly insignificant to the bitterness in the latter half of the brew. Very green might be an apt way to describe this one. As always with Wood Brothers, it's worth a shot.
