Dark, black with slight ruby highlights and a moderate tan head that does produce some nice lacing. The aroma is whiskey, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla. The taste is the same with some hints of coffee in the finish along with alcohol warmth. The body is full, mild carbonation, very smooth but really better for sipping. Altogether, this is a big boozy stout, very tasty, very enjoyable. Great for afterdinner or just anytime.

22oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of fluffy foam. It left sudsy rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of whisky, chocolate, toffee, caramel, oak and vanilla. Sweet molasses, chocolate, toffee and a sharp whiskey bite. Some vanilla and coffee notes, too.

Pours black with a finger of tan foam. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts right up front. Plump and standard, but hearty. Chocolate starts off the rest of the nose, with whiskey drying out the finish. A touch of cherry in the middle adds a light twang of tartness. Flavor profile is roasty, toasty, and caramely malts, alongside toffee, chocolate, cherry and molasses. It leans sweet, with whiskey heating up the back with a little char. Mouth feel is thick with a prickly initial effervescence and a creamy finish. Overall, full and balanced, while keeping the alcohol level hidden.
