Poured from 500mL bottle into my Belvárosi sörfesztivál tulip. Best by 12/26/24.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a light-to-moderate haze and a thick head of frothy ivory foam that leaves some chunky lace on the glass.
Smell: rather sweet malt with a bit of yeastiness and some slightly spicy, herbal hops. I like the hops but there’s too much sweetness here for me.
Taste: sweet malt, like the aroma, with kind of a bit of cloying character. The grassy, herbal, even slightly lemony hops almost counteract the rather overly sweet nature of the malt.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a pretty good carbonation and creaminess for the style.
Overall: it’s not a terrible beer or anything; I just don’t find it particularly successful, mostly due to the sweetness of the malt.
