Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a medium to dark coppery amber with a thin white head that dissipates to sparse patches with slight lacing. Aroma of lightly caramel malt, cinnamon and mixed holiday spices, dried citrus fruit. Flavor is mildly caramel malt, cinnamon, allspice, clove and dried orange peel. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation despite the mild pour. Definitely a holiday inspired beer, the spices taste, as described as a complex mulling assortment. The body is lighter than expected and the bock basis is subsumed into the spice complement. As a spice beer, quite nicely done, as a bock, a bit shy of malt flavor. An interesting and flavorful Winter spiced lager.
