An Imperial Chocolate stout infused with apricot and orange zest. Sweet, with a creamy body and a little spice. For drinking on railway tracks, in the backroom of a crowded bar, in a graveyard or just on a beach with fireworks above you.

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a large, creamy head. Smell is almost more dominated by the fruity additives of apricot and orange than the lightly roasted, chocolately malts here, but not in a bad way, with quite a pleasant aroma of orange zest and chocolate. Taste follows the nose with an excellent balance that slightly favors the fruity orange and apricot notes over the lightly roasted, chocolate malts, while also displaying a light hop bitterness and a subtle allspice presence reminiscent of clove and cinnamon, with just a hint of lactose. Finishes with a light bitterness and some orange zest, chocolate and spice lingering in the aftertaste.
An Imperial Stout that really manages quite an excellent balance between lightly roasted, chocolate malt, fruity orange and apricot notes and a subtle spice presence as well as just a hint of bitter hops. While the orange zest feels perhaps most dominant here, this never feels too sweet or fruity, with the lactose thankfully remaining firmly in the background as well and the spices and bitter/roasted notes rounding this out nicely. Perhaps just a tad reminiscent of Terry's Chocolate Orange.
