Pours a cloudy, pale golden ambeer coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and citrus hops with lighter tropical accents and notes of grapefruit, tangerine and papaya coming through, as well as just a hint of pine. Taste is an excellent balance of biscuity malt and bitter, resinous hops, citrus, tropical hops, with the zesty grapefruit, tangerine and lime notes dominating, with a lighter papaya element and some pine and herbal accents coming through as well. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and some grapefruit and pine lingering in the aftertaste.
This is a very nice Pale Ale that is dominated by rather bitter, somewhat resinous hops and quite zesty citrus notes and I enjoyed it very much because this kind of flavour profile is unfortunately getting harder and harder to find among a sea of sweet and tropical hazy (I)PAs. It's rather expressive and full-bodied for the ABV as well, making for another great Pale Ale from Pomona Island, who really seem to excel at this low-ABV style.
