Pours a cloudy, almost hazy, golden amber coloration with a large, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of grapefruit and papaya, as well as some herbal accents. Taste is a good balance of light biscuity malt and herbal, slightly floral hops, with citrus and tropical fruit notes of grapefruit, tangerine, papaya and guava, as well as just a hint of sage. Finishes with a light bitterness and some grapefruit, papaya and sage lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This has got a rather interesting flavour profile to it, probably due to the HBC 692 hops used here, which add some slightly floral and rather herbal notes, bringing sage to mind, along with the more common citrus and tropical notes. I'm a little conflicted about this, because while I rather like some herbal accents in my IPAs, I'm not keen on floral accents at all and the balance seems just a little off here, this being a tad too sweet and floral for my personal taste and not quite bitter enough. Nevertheless, it's a somewhat unique and interesting brew that is enjoyable enough at the end of the day.
