Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of grapefruit and papaya, as well as light herbal accents. Taste is a great balance of biscuity malt and lightly dank, herbal and resinous hops, with citrus notes of grapefruit and tangerine dominating and lighter tropical papaya accents, as well as just a hint of pine. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some grapefruit and papaya lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light/medium body and medium carbonation.
Another terrific Pale Ale from Pomona Island, who really excel at these low-ABV styles. This is dominated by vibrant, zesty citrus notes, with lighter tropical, dank, herbal and resinous accents, as well as a good bitterness in the finishpacking in a lot of flavour and great mouthfeel for the ABV, making for a very enjoyable Pale Ale with a good balance of fruity and herbal, bitter elements.
