One barley wine, split between seven barrels to age and evolve. This expression has developed in a 7 year Plum Liqueur cask. The sticky, sweet liqueur complements the sweetness of the beer, whilst cutting through with a little acidity that livens the palate. It lends a touch of cinnamon to the aroma and a hint of marzipan. The profile will continue to change as it matures but it’s a delicious beer to enjoy now.

Copenhagen 10/6 2025. 75 cl bottle from The Beer Hive, Amagerbrogade, Kbh. S. Golden label with a stirring Cobra snake drawn in green. Birthday present to myself.
Pours opaque, murky mahogany with a mid-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. lining to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet, sugary, malty odor mingling with dark fruits and sweet alcohol. Brown sugar. Plums and raisins. Liqueur. And even more brown sugar.
Low carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, a little sticky, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a moderately strong sweetness. Aftertaste is rich, potent and very sweet. Boozy and a bit searing undertone. Lingering. Finish is sweet and laden with alcohol.
A potent, boozy dip in the liqueur barrel.
