another awesome beer from these guys, super light, this one featuring sonoran wheat, which is one of the few malts they are brewing with that i have actually seen and tasted in beer before, but more often saison types than anything else. this is a simple beer, fermented clean, very low alcohol, with some citrus in the mix i believe, but its all real light, summery, and delicate, this was among the easiest drinking of the beers i had in here, although all were low in alcohol and quite sessionable. this is real pale yellow color and heady from the tap, looks like a pils in the glass really, with better clarity than most of the rest of them had. aroma and flavor show some soft orange and lemon notes on top of a uniquely earthy base, the wheat is obvious in here, but lighter and more rustic somehow than normal white wheat, and there is a certain rawness to it, an earthiness, maybe just barley malted at all, super pale, and it sets up nicely in such a minimal beer. some orange essence comes out as it warms, and i get a little bit of a spiciness as well, almost a rye type note, but its fast and the whole thing is dry and gone on the swallow. a neat way to feature this grain, a little citrus from the hops too maybe, and great carbonation. really fun little beer here, somewhat more conventional tasting than most of their others, but still a unique specimen. i love the freshness, the earthy grounding of the wheat, and the low abv. great with my sandwich in here, which was one of the best i can remember ever eating. check this place out if you havent yet!
