I do rather likle their Hofjager pilsner with the old man on the can, so let's try this. But this also contains real hops and not only extract, great!
It says "Premium pilsner" on the can, not a good sign.
Musky aroma coming from the can. Pretty good initial head though not particularly smooth. Aromas from the glass of quite harsh malt, honey and a little hops.
Flavour is definitely similar to the Hofjager. Honey and a dry clean hops bitterness dominate. Totally reminds me of a Polish pilsner called Namyslow, but better. I'm loving the clean malt and dry pilsner hops...I call this "pilsner hops" because for me this is the perfect hops for a pilsner, and tends to be found mainly in German pilsners and occasionally Austrian and Polish. But I have no idea what kind of hops it actually is. Punchy, clean and dry. Honey and prunes/dates dominate the flavour. Full mouth feel with a light bitter tingling aftertaste.
This is rather similar to Hofjager and a few other pilsners out there. Almost identical to Hofjager in fact. I prefer this to Krombacher and Warsteiner. But Radeberger is still probably my favourite. Overall though I really like this. So clean and perfectly balanced and refreshing and refined.
Usually when a pilsner writes on the can that it is "premium", it isn't. However this actually is. It reminds me of ice cubes from the north pole, pure clean natural dry and refreshing. But as beer. So yes, big fan, better than their old man beer with the hops extract, but almost the same ; ) Maybe they are the same haha

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
