Standard brown half liter bottle with an impressive multi-colored label featuring an impressive coat of arms for the brewery. The back label emphasizes that the water comes from nearby Lake Baikal. Unfortunately, rice and sugar found their way into the recipe as well. Bottled 7/1/03, I opened it on 8/1/03.
Poured a clear deep gold under a decent white head that faded quickly leaving no lace. The nose is a nasty combination of vinegar and raspberry soda. The mouth is very prickly and medium smooth. The initial taste is pretty bland malt, followed by a very citrusy sour taste. The finish is malty, but there's not much aftertaste. I'm still looking for the hops. Despite the sugar, the overwhelming impression is sour.
