Zolotoye is Golden. Maybe we can call it a golden lager, but in this exact case the name means 'Premium'. Color is pale-golden, anyway, and the bottle's looking nice. Smell is faint and industrial with no lively notes. Taste welcomes you with sticky artificial sweetness which is giving way to some hops mixed with yeast. Not bad but I simply cannot call it good.

Came in a dark brown 33 cl bottle with an ultra-modern gold label. The ingredients conform to the purity law. Bottled on 6/2/03, I opened it on 7/25/03.
Poured a clear gold with a fizzy white head that was gone in a flash leaving no hope for collar or lace. There was a touch of malt in the nose, but it was very weak. The mouth was quite prickly, but even. The initial taste was sweet mouth, then chased by a bit of fairly pleasant flowery hops. The aftertaste was a fairly pleasant bitter. This beer is no great shakes, but it's drinkable.
