I saw this brew for the first time in a big Moscow supermarket on the outside of town. Tall green half liter bottle with a black and green label featuring little more than the name of the brewery.
Pours clear, fairly deep gold under a one finger white head that lingers quite well, even mustering a few spots of lace on the glass. The nose is strong of grain, slightly sweet with a hint of hoppy spice. Not skunky or sour, but the nose leaps out at you on the pour. The mouth is quite light and clean, with ample carbonation. The taste is mild and fairly pleasant, with bready malt dominating above a touch of sugary sweetness and a phantom of hoppy bite. The finish is very malty, like chewing crustless white bread. The malt even lingers long into the aftertaste. A pleasant surprise.
