Yes, they really called this beer "Wow." Clear 33cl bottle with a blue and gold label depicting fireworks bursting around an eclipsed sun. 5.2% is placed in large numbers prominantly on the front. Ingredients include rice. Best before 4/28/06, I opened it on 1/7/06.
Pours a clear, slightly reddish gold under a one finger white head that fades very quickly leaving no lace. The nose is syrupy sweet. The mouth is light and very prickly. There is a distinct rice flavor, somewhat akin to dirty socks, with some harsh metallic hops thrown in. A touch of grape emerges later, as the rice continues to convert to dirty laundry. The aftertaste is tinny and acidicly bitter. There is very little positive to note here. "Wow" indeed.
