Creative Creature Brewing

Cool store front brewery sharing a building with a pizza joint in a shopping plaza not far off the highway. Short service bar in the front left corner with a few table inside and on the patio in front. A dozen beers on tap. Friendly bartender.

Smallish tasting room in downtown El Cajon. The have a conjoining door with URBN Pizza next door and ample outdoor seating (only a handful of indoor seats). Its clean and well-kept with friendly beertenders. They boast about 12 taps to choose from 5 or so are IPAs, another 5ish are Berliners and the remaining are one-off stouts or some other limited concoction. Not too shabby.

At least one of the beers I had was pretty clearly oxidized. They'd been open for three whole days at the time so I'll give them the benefit of a doubt. Quality-wise I didn't see any other issues.

Service was very friendly, I like the people who run the place and I hope they can sort out some of the issues.

The selection was good.... if you're just into IPAs, sours and stouts. Could use a bit more variety instead of the stuff everyone freaking makes.

I'll give it a re-review in a few months to see if they're doing better.
